Episode 2: The Forbidden Path
Despite the villagers’ warnings, Anayo’s determination to uncover the truth grew stronger. He convinced a young boy, Obi, to guide him to the places the villagers avoided.
“We mustn’t go far,” Obi said nervously. “Ekwensu does not forgive trespassers.”
The duo ventured deeper into the forest, finding strange carvings on trees and abandoned relics of a colonial-era outpost. Anayo’s excitement grew as he sketched the carvings and collected samples. But as they moved further, the atmosphere changed. The forest grew darker, and the air felt heavy.
They came across a clearing with a massive stone altar stained dark red. Obi’s eyes widened in terror. “We have to leave now!” he whispered, pulling at Anayo’s arm.
Before they could retreat, the wind howled, and a shadowy figure appeared at the edge of the clearing. It moved unnaturally fast, its glowing red eyes locking onto them. Obi screamed and ran, but Anayo froze, mesmerized by the figure’s presence. A deep voice rumbled through the clearing. “You do not belong here.”
