Episode 1: The Hidden Village
Anayo’s journey into the dense Niger rainforest began as a search for rare wildlife species. A reclusive researcher, he preferred the company of trees and animals to people. The forest’s whispers and rustling leaves had always brought him peace, but this trip was different. On his third day, he stumbled upon something extraordinary—a hidden village nestled deep within the forest, untouched by modern life. The huts were built with thatched roofs, and the villagers wore traditional clothing.
The village chief, an elderly man named Nwokocha, greeted Anayo with caution. “You should not have come here,” he said. “This forest holds secrets best left alone.”
Curiosity burning inside him, Anayo asked about the village and its isolation. The chief sighed. “We stay hidden to avoid the wrath of Ekwensu, the ancient spirit of chaos. When the harmattan wind blows, Ekwensu awakens.”
Anayo, a man of science, dismissed the story as superstition. But that night, as the harmattan’s cold winds swept through the village, he heard strange sounds: deep, guttural growls echoing through the trees. The villagers huddled in fear, their faces pale. Anayo felt a shiver that wasn’t from the cold.
Could it be true that Ekwensu is real? Episode 2 will unravel it.
