“Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.” — Philippians 1:6
One of the greatest tragedies in the Kingdom of God is not that people never start well, but that many start well and fail to finish. God never begins a project He does not intend to complete. He is not only the Author of our faith—He is also the Finisher.
To end in shambles after God has invested grace, calling, anointing, and opportunity into a life is a contradiction of God’s nature. Scripture says, “The end of a matter is better than the beginning” (Ecclesiastes 7:8). If the end will be disgraceful, then starting was unnecessary. God does not raise men to abandon them halfway.
God Does Not Believe in Abandoned Projects
We serve a God who is never exhausted.
A God who never loses power.
A God who never fades or faints.
Isaiah declares:
“Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary.” — Isaiah 40:28
If God never diminishes, then He does not expect those walking with Him to diminish. A believer whose life continually declines gives the enemy opportunity to mock God. Any backward movement that suggests God lacks power insults His integrity.
God never calls a man to become a spiritual dropout. Dropouts are not testimonies of God’s weakness; they are evidences of disconnection from Him.
God Called You to Be a Tower, Not a Shack
Jesus said:
“Which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost?” — Luke 14:28
God does not build shacks; He builds towers. Towers are visible, strong, dependable, and elevated. God never intended your life to start with fire and end in ashes. He never planned for you to begin with vision and finish as a forgotten story.
Before God called you, He already counted the cost. If a life collapses, it is not because God lacked resources—it is because something disconnected that life from Him.
Your life must never become a mockery where people say, “This man started well but could not finish.”
Why Do Strong Men Fall?
Isaiah continues:
“Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall.” — Isaiah 40:30
Strength, youth, zeal, gifting, and charisma are not enough. There are forces that drain men—forces that do not respect age, title, or ministry. The devil is not impressed by your history; he is only interested in your downfall.
Many who fell never planned to fall.
Many who declined never expected it.
But decline is gradual—deflation happens quietly.
Samson: A Life Punctured by Compromise
Samson was born anointed, empowered, and feared by enemies. Yet he ended blind, weak, mocked, and enslaved. His strength was not lost overnight—it was leaked through compromise.
Sin—especially secret sin—is the devil’s sharpest needle. It punctures grace, empties power, and drains spiritual vitality. Public sins are dangerous, but secret sins are deadlier because they hide until destruction is complete.
Sin makes giants grind like slaves.
Sin turns champions into entertainers for the enemy.
Sin reduces destinies to ridicule.
But Mercy Still Speaks
In his final moments, Samson cried:
“O Lord God, remember me, I pray! Strengthen me, I pray, just this once.” — Judges 16:28
That cry restored his strength.
That cry gave him a place in Hebrews 11.
That cry proved that God still responds to broken men who return sincerely.
The Secret of Renewal
Isaiah concludes:
“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.” — Isaiah 40:31
To wait on the Lord means to depend fully on Him, to disconnect from sin, and to remain sensitive to His presence. Renewal is not automatic—it is a divine exchange. God removes the exhausted strength and replaces it with fresh power.
You cannot wait on God while clinging to sin.
You cannot expect renewal without repentance.
You cannot reconnect to God without disconnecting from compromise.
This Is Your Call
God has not finished with you.
Your fire can burn again.
Your strength can return.
Your destiny can still be fulfilled.
You cannot die as an abandoned project.
You cannot end as a shadow of who God called you to be.
You cannot allow the enemy to mock God through your life.
Return to God.
Cry out sincerely.
Wait on Him again.
The God who began the work is faithful to complete it.
Prayer Point:
Lord, whatever has drained my strength, punctured my grace, or disconnected me from You—restore me again. Renew my strength like the eagle. I will not end as an abandoned project in Your hands. Amen.
