Episode 5: Redemption in the Forest
The next morning, the harmattan winds had stilled, and the forest seemed brighter. The villagers approached Anayo cautiously, their fear replaced by awe.
“Ekwensu is gone,” Nwokocha declared. “You have done what we thought was impossible.”
Anayo humbly explained that it wasn’t his power but God’s that had driven the spirit away. “Ekwensu was the result of man’s mistakes, but God’s truth is greater than any darkness,” he said.
The villagers began to rebuild their lives, and Anayo stayed to help them. He set up a small school to teach children about the importance of both science and faith, blending his knowledge with the lessons he’d learned in the forest.
Years later, Anayo would recount his story to others, reminding them that the greatest battles are fought with faith, courage, and humility. The Niger forest remained a place of mystery, but its echoes now carried a message of hope and redemption.
