Episode 4: A Race Against Time
As the harmattan winds grew stronger, Ekwensu became more active. The villagers reported sightings of the shadowy figure near their homes. Crops withered, animals vanished, and fear gripped everyone.
Desperate to stop the spirit, Anayo ventured back into the forest alone, armed with his notes, a flashlight, and a Bible given to him by his late mother speaking in tongues and praying.
At the altar, he began to read from the journal, deciphering the rituals the colonial officer had recorded. The ground trembled, and Ekwensu appeared again, its voice booming. “You dare challenge me?”
Anayo’s hands shook as he opened the Bible and began to pray aloud. The words of Psalm 23 filled the clearing: “Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil…”
The spirit recoiled, its form flickering like a dying flame. Anayo pressed on, alternating between the journal’s instructions and the powerful words of Scripture. Suddenly, a blinding light erupted from the altar, and Ekwensu let out an ear-piercing scream before vanishing into the night.
