“And David said to Saul, Let no man’s heart fail because of him; thy servant will go and fight with this Philistine. 33 And Saul said to David, Thou art not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him: for thou art but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth. 34 And David said unto Saul, Thy servant kept his father’s sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock: 35 And I went out after him, and smote him, and delivered it out of his mouth: and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and smote him, and slew him. 36 Thy servant slew both the lion and the bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he hath defied the armies of the living God.“ 1Samuel 17:32-36,
I can remember in those days at the fellowship or any Christian gathering, when leadership positions were available and some people were to be appointed for the post, I noticed that brethren normally run away from it or hide themselves so that they won’t be noticed and be appointed, not because they were afraid, not because they were not capable, not because they were not trained, but it was because the leadership position is not for the ordinary men but for the extra-ordinary, the well trained, those that will not eat until their members have eaten and satisfied, those that will be fasting while members are still eating, those that will be awake to watch and pray while members are sleeping, those that will see their member’s problem as their problem, those that are ready to stay at the front line always to defend and fight for their members, those that are ready to delete fear and install boldness into their members.
Though, they may be trained, but they still see themselves not well trained for the mission yet. The day such leaders were appointed, we saw them shedding tears as if they lost someone in their family, reason being that; spiritual leadership is a servant leadership for the brave and well equipped person for spiritual warfare and defence.
When such leaders leads, revival normally broke out uncontrollably and the move of God will be unstoppable, no demon can challenge their authority, because they will proceed and seek the face of God for the mission.
Unfortunately! Reverse is the case today, some men never want to be trained before they reign, no humility, no knowledge, no wisdom, rude and arrogant leaders, disobedient and because they were sanctioned for their wrong doings in their former church, they ran to another church to become a leader, such people will end up becoming an accursed among the sheep and pollutant in the ministry to scatter the sheep.
Today, most people don’t want to be trained to reign in the church, the reason being that; they see the church as a business that is fast profiting, the church today has been merchandized. No wonder! There is no power, no anointing and people in the world can speak or abuse the church and the shepherds (Pastors, Prophets, Evangelist, Bishop e.tc), no trust.
Please, it is high time we stop disgracing the name of Christ. Be trained and most importantly, allow the HolySpirit to train you, He is the master trainer.
Lets stop this mess in the church and among brethren, the church is not a political group, the church is not a tribal or community meeting, the church is bond of faithful believers that cannot be separated. The church is holy.
Consider these differences:
Ø To appoint a leader in those days, brethren will go on fasting and prayer to seek the face of God. Reverse is the case today.
Ø To appoint a leader in those days, brethren will go out to observe the attitude of the fellow. Reverse is the case today.
Ø On the day of appointment, in those days, the leaders in view would have been on fasting prior and on the day, and the church prays and intercede for them, but today, they rather celebrate, cook, hire DJ, choose colourful outfit, invite men of different high class to grace the occasion, print invitations and sharing of souvenirs, cracking Jokes, organize night party and some will even drink to stupor.
Oh! I see tears rolling down the face of Jesus; are these not the people I died for? Is this my legacy? And I can hear Jesus saying; after been appointed, I expect you to retire to the mountain for retreat and seek my face.
The bottom line is “NO TRAINING NO REIGNING”
“Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah.” 1Samuel 16:13
“And the men of Judah came, and there they anointed David king over the house of Judah. And they told David, saying, That the men of Jabeshgilead were they that buried Saul.“ 2Samuel 2:4
