Introduction: Faith, Not Stubbornness
One of the greatest misunderstandings among believers is confusing faith with stubbornness. Faith is not a refusal to acknowledge reality, and it is not a rejection of wisdom. Going to the hospital or taking medication is not a sin. God can work with science—but He cannot work with occultism, ignorance, or misplaced zeal.
Faith is God’s ordained system for receiving from Him. Anything you will ever receive from God must come by faith, and understanding how faith works is key to accessing your inheritance—the “land” God has promised you.
Everything You Receive from God Must Be Available
Before you can receive anything from God, one fundamental question must be answered:
Is it available?
Anything you desire from God must already be made available by His Word. If God has not promised it in Scripture, you have no legal ground to demand it. Faith only works where there is a divine promise.
“If the Word of God says it is available, then it is available.”
You cannot ask God to give what He has not promised. Availability is established by:
- The written Word of God
- A clear prophetic word aligned with Scripture
Without this foundation, faith has nothing to stand on.
Agreement Is Powerful—but Faith Is Personal
Jesus said in Matthew 18:19 that if two people agree concerning anything, it shall be done. However, many believers misunderstand agreement. They assume that results come because of who they agree with rather than how they believe.
People often look for:
- The most anointed person
- The most experienced pastor
- Someone with a “track record”
But the truth remains:
You receive from God by your own faith, not another person’s reputation.
Agreement does not replace personal faith. At best, it complements it. If your faith is weak, no amount of proximity to “strong faith people” will compensate for your unbelief.
Two Ways Blessings Come to You
There are two ways things come to a believer:
1. You Go for It by Faith
This is the guaranteed way—the way God promises.
You move toward what God has promised you by believing, confessing, resisting opposition, and standing firm. This path often includes:
- Delays
- Opposition
- Warfare
- Personal discipline
But it always works.
“The just shall live by faith.”
2. God Brings It to You by the Anointing
This happens when God sovereignly uses a channel—through prophecy, laying on of hands, or a supernatural intervention.
While powerful, this method is not guaranteed for everyone. It is selective and sovereign.
Relying only on this method is like playing spiritual lottery. God may touch one person in a crowd of thousands, while others with the same need remain untouched—not because God hates them, but because faith is the system He has ordained for daily living.
Why Faith Often Seems Slow
When you move by faith, you will encounter resistance:
- Offenses
- Strife
- Distractions
- Unforgiveness
- Pride
Faith is not defeated by lack of power but by compromise. The devil’s strategy is not always to stop your prayer—but to stop your faith from functioning.
“Resist the devil, and he shall flee.”
The devil has no resistance against the Word of God. His goal is to prevent you from using the Word effectively.
Offense: One of Faith’s Greatest Enemies
One of the most dangerous weapons Satan uses against believers is offense.
Jesus said offenses will surely come. The Greek word skandalon means “a stumbling block.” Offense does not just hurt your emotions—it interrupts your spiritual flow.
Many believers are faithful, committed, and knowledgeable, yet they experience little result in prayer because offense has crept in unnoticed.
Unforgiveness affects faith.
Strife hinders prayer.
Pride delays answers.
“When you stand praying, forgive.”
Forgiveness is not about feelings—it is about keeping your faith alive.
Marriage, Relationships, and Hindered Prayers
The Bible clearly teaches that unresolved issues at home can hinder prayers (1 Peter 3:7). Many prayer failures are not spiritual—they are relational.
Husbands and wives who allow strife, offense, and unresolved conflict give the enemy legal ground to delay answers. The prayer is not canceled—but it is hindered.
Faith works best in peace.
Faith Must Be Guarded at All Costs
Jesus told Peter, “I have prayed for you that your faith does not fail.”
If everything fails in your life but your faith remains intact, you are not defeated.
But if everything works around you and your faith fails, you are already defeated.
Faith is your lifeline.
That is why the devil fights it relentlessly—through:
- Offense
- Emotional wounds
- Distractions
- Hurt feelings
Once faith is unplugged, nothing else works properly.
Living Offense-Free Is a Choice
People will hurt you—it is guaranteed. But whether you take offense is a choice.
You can:
- Keep moving wounded
- Or keep moving victorious
Those who enjoy consistent results with God are not those without challenges, but those who refuse to allow offenses to derail their faith.
Little children often walk in stronger faith than adults because they forgive quickly and move on. Many adults, however, carry offenses for years—and wonder why their prayers seem unanswered.
Conclusion: Access the Land God Has Given You
God has already given you the land—but access is by faith.
Faith:
- Believes what God says
- Resists the enemy
- Walks in forgiveness
- Refuses offense
- Stands on the Word
Stop waiting for chance encounters and spiritual lotteries. Settle down to understand how faith works and commit to walking in it daily.
“Fight the good fight of faith.”
And remember—if your faith is intact, your victory is only a matter of time.
